We’re looking to recruit a new MA or PhD student who would join the AMP Lab community as a SpokenWeb RA and curate innovative programming in the lab as part of their DAHU or MA English degree.
Applications are open until January 15, 2019 to UBC Okanagan’s Digital Arts & Humanities Graduate Program UBCO (DAHU) interdisciplinary program. Specifically I’m looking to recruit a graduate student interested in poetry and literary audio recordings, who wishes to pursue research on
- innovative ways of mobilizing digitized spoken and literary recordings within pedagogical, performative, and public contexts;
- techniques and tools for searching, visualizing, analyzing, and enhancing critical engagement (for features relevant to humanities research and pedagogy).
As part of their own research agenda, and with the support of a funded research assistantship, the successful applicant will produce programming and/or exhibitions related to the SpokenWeb-affiliated literary audio collection held at UBC Okanagan, while developing key career skills and meeting the needs of the lab.
Examples of current UBC SpokenWeb programming in the AMP Lab include our Press Play Workshops; Curated Close-Listening; and Performing the Archive series.
