We plan to use Omeka in the next phase on the SpokenWeb project as one of several CMS’ that we will run in parallel in order to determine the relative advantages and disadvantages of each as a spoken word and poetry platform.

To date, we have not found any poetry or spoken word sites that use Omeka. Here are 2 non-poetry examples:

1. Florida Memory http://www.floridamemory.com. One of the best, well-rounded (in terms of formats) sites that we come across using Omeka. This well-designed site features excellent browsing, embedded audio and video, audio playlists, and more.
2. Europeana: Art Nouveau exhibition http://exhibitions.europeana.eu/exhibits/show/art–nouveau–en. This simple and elegantly designed site is a good demonstration of Omeka as a platform for a digital image collection.

Although Omeka is quite new it already has a significant following (i.e. over 1,000 sites), excellent documentation, well-managed forums and an expanding team of developers.
